‘Red Shouldered Hawk’ by Dale Bargmann is the lead photo of the “Bird’s Eye View” article in the May, 2022 issue of Texas Hill Country Culture magazine. Written by Dale and Nancy Foster, the article also includes his photos of the Carolina Wren, Carolina chickadee, painted bunting, and golden fronted woodpecker.

Dale has photographed 280 of the 420 species that live in the Edwards Plateau region…and he’s not done yet. Dale knows the best bird spotting sites in the area. He is the former president of the Hill Country Camera Club and participates in the annual Christmas bird count as well as The Great Backyard Bird Count. You can find him at Riverside Nature Center’s Bird Walk and Talk events on the third Saturday of the month.
