JULY PROGRAM

“A RETROSPECTIVE:PHOTOQUEST 2011″.

ROBIN CLARK

In 2011, I was approached by the club to act as judge for that year’s PhotoQuest.  The July program will take a look at several award winning photographs from that show and ‘pick them apart’ critically speaking.  Discussion and/or Q&A time will round out the program.’

This piece was visually unified by a variety of textures…A solitary red garment hangs slightly off center, near the edge of the picture plane, amid several others that are nondescript”…serving as the focal point for the photo

JULY PHOTOSHARE

“HIGH KEY”

High Key Lighting is all about minimizing the contrast and shadows while keeping the detail.  The “key”or main light, is primarily aimed directly toward your subject, not from the side or back, providing the lighting to produce a bright image with very minimal contrast and shadows.

Though High Key is common in portraiture, you can apply high key lighting to still life subjects.  When composing your shot, using a light background will reduce your post processing.

GIVE IT A TRY & HAVE FUN!
