“AERIAL/DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY”

Aaron Yates.webp
Presented by Aaron Yates

Join Aaron at the Hill Country Camera Club to share lessons from behind the controller, drawn from his aerial work and a career lived at the intersection of photography, video, and live audiovisual production.

Aaron will pull back the curtain on aerial photography, not only as a commercial specialty, but as a process that any serious photographer can fold into their own work. Drawing on years of technical, environmental, farm-and-ranch, real estate, and landscape capture across the Hill Country, he’ll focus on the two halves of a strong aerial image: capturing it in the field, and finishing it at the computer.

Aaron will walk through equipment, along with settings and exposure for clean RAW files and the compositional shift that happens when your camera leaves the ground. He’ll also cover the
planning that drone capture requires.  Aaron will also share his post workflow — RAW development, luminance adjustments, and
tasteful sky and color work — with an emphasis on keeping aerial images believable rather than overcooked.

The session is built for photographers who already know their way around a camera and want to add a new perspective.
